PENN STATE & STATE COLLEGE
The University Park campus is the main campus of the Pennsylvania State University, and is located in the town of State College in the rural heart of Pennsylvania. The SLRF 2004 conference is being held at the Days Inn Penn State, located three blocks from campus in downtown State College, a charming college town with restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Fall in State College means brilliant autumn colors and football, although the Thursday and Friday of the conference are fall break at the university, and no home football game is scheduled for that weekend.

BY CAR: State College is a several-hour drive from many major mid-Atlantic urban areas:
- Harrisburg, PA: 1 3/4 hours
- Pittsburgh, PA: 2 3/4 hours
- Philadelphia, PA: 3 3/4 hours
- Baltimore, MD: 3 1/2 hours
- Washington, DC: 4 hours
- New York City: 4 1/2 hours
BY PLANE: University Park airport (code: SCE) is served by US Air to Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, United to Washington-Dulles, Delta to Cincinnati, and Northwest to Detroit. The Days Inn and other hotels offer a free shuttle van to and from the airport.
BY BUS: Greyhound operates buses from Altoona, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia to State College. The bus station is an 8-block walk or free campus loop bus ride from the Days Inn conference site.
